Thanks to the collaboration between CEPUDO and Food for the Poor, a greenhouse was built in one of the homes of our Angels of Hope program. Besides the construction of the greenhouse, the irrigation system was installed, provision of agricultural inputs was provided, and technical assistance and training were provided by our Agricultural Engineer.

This project is very important as it supports food security for the 100 boys and girls that live in the home. The first harvest took place in mid-April and was very successful. The children are very happy to have the greenhouse in their home and they enjoy the whole harvesting process.

The home director said that growing vegetables will not only help the home financially, but will also help the children´s development since teaching them how to grow their own food is occupational therapy.

We will soon be implementing greenhouse projects in two more homes of our Angels of Hope program, which will benefit many more children in Honduras.
